Hotels and hostels in Oslo Yes, accommodation in Oslo is also expensive. There are few hostels (Anker and the YMCA are quite central, Haraldsheim is a bit further away) in Oslo, so it's a good idea to book in advance!
Thon Hotels is probably the biggest hotel chain in Oslo. Note that some of the cheaper Oslo hotels are situated in "bad" neighbourhoods, but this is usually not a problem if you are a little cautious. Check out City Hotel, Ambiose B&B, holiday apartments like this one or try a Google search. Just be sure to look at the map and figure out how to get there before you book a room, as taxis are ... yeah, you guessed it - expensive.
